# Account Settings

> Manage your AIBAMS profile, security settings, preferences, and connected accounts.

## Account Settings Overview

Access all account settings from **Profile Avatar → Account Settings** in the top-right corner.

Settings are organized into four sections:

* **Profile** — Personal information and display preferences
* **Security** — Password, 2FA, and active sessions
* **Preferences** — Theme, language, timezone, notifications
* **Connected Accounts** — Linked OAuth providers

## Profile Settings

### Updating Your Profile

Navigate to **Settings → Profile**:

| Field             | How to Update                                    |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **Full Name**     | Click the field, edit, click **Save**            |
| **Profile Photo** | Click the avatar circle → Upload or remove photo |
| **Job Title**     | Enter your role within your organization         |
| **Bio**           | Short description (visible to team members)      |
| **Phone Number**  | Required for SMS-based 2FA                       |

### Changing Your Email

<Warning>
  Email changes require verification on both the old and new email address. This process takes \~5 minutes.
</Warning>

1. **Settings → Profile → Change Email**
2. Enter your new email address
3. Click **Send Verification**
4. Check both your old and new inbox for verification links
5. Click both links to confirm the change

## Security Settings

### Changing Your Password

1. **Settings → Security → Change Password**
2. Enter your **current password**
3. Enter your **new password** (must meet strength requirements)
4. Confirm the new password
5. Click **Update Password**

<Note>
  After a password change, all other active sessions will be signed out for security.
</Note>

### Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

#### Enable 2FA

1. **Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication**
2. Click **Enable 2FA**
3. Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password)
4. Scan the QR code displayed
5. Enter the 6-digit code from the app to verify
6. **Save your backup codes** — store them securely

#### Disable 2FA

1. **Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication**
2. Click **Disable 2FA**
3. Enter your password to confirm

<Warning>
  Disabling 2FA reduces your account security. Only disable it if you're switching authenticator apps — re-enable it immediately after.

### Active Sessions

See all devices currently signed into your account:

1. **Settings → Security → Active Sessions**
2. View each session: device type, location, last active time
3. Click **Sign Out** next to any session you don't recognize
4. Click **Sign Out All Other Devices** to revoke all other sessions at once

<Tip>
  Regularly review active sessions. Unrecognized sessions may indicate unauthorized access — change your password immediately if you see anything suspicious.

## Preferences

### Appearance

| Setting          | Options                               |

| **Font Size**    | Small / Medium / Large                |

### Language & Region

| Setting         | Description                                   |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Language**    | Interface language (English, and more coming) |
| **Timezone**    | Used for scheduling, timestamps, and reports  |
| **Date Format** | DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY                      |
| **Time Format** | 12-hour or 24-hour                            |

### Notification Preferences

Configure what notifications you receive and how:

1. **Settings → Preferences → Notifications**
2. Toggle per-app notifications:
   * **MailX** — New email, digest, important senders
   * **FileX** — Shared with me, upload complete
   * **FusionX** — Task complete, automation results
   * **System** — Billing alerts, security notices
3. Set delivery method: **In-app**, **Email**, **Browser Push**
4. Configure **Quiet Hours** — no notifications during set time ranges

## Connected Accounts

### Linking Google Account

1. **Settings → Connected Accounts**
2. Click **Connect Google**
3. Sign in with your Google account
4. Authorize AIBAMS permissions
5. Google is now linked for one-click sign-in

### Removing Linked Accounts

1. **Settings → Connected Accounts**
2. Click **Disconnect** next to the provider
3. Confirm disconnection

<Note>
  If your only sign-in method is a linked account (no password set), you must add a password before disconnecting the linked account.
</Note>

## Privacy Controls

### Data Export

Download all your AIBAMS data (GDPR compliance):

1. **Settings → Privacy → Export My Data**
2. Click **Request Export**
3. You'll receive an email within 24 hours with a download link

The export includes:

* Profile and account information
* All emails (MailX)
* All files metadata (FileX)
* AI conversation history (FusionX)
* Audit log of your actions

### Account Deletion

<Warning>
  Account deletion is **permanent and irreversible**. All data is deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
</Warning>

1. **Settings → Privacy → Delete Account**
2. Read the consequences carefully
3. Enter your password to confirm
4. Click **Permanently Delete Account**

If you have an active subscription, cancel it first from **Settings → Billing**.
